Painting here means working on a busy footpath, often next to a tram or bus stop, on buildings where the facade is part of the shop's identity. Jetblack Painting is a 5-star rated Melbourne business with 18+ years of experience, $10 million public liability insurance, and a 5-year workmanship guarantee on every project. ## High Street, Armadale On High Street, Armadale, we repainted a two-storey commercial building from its original dark charcoal render to white, including the heritage wing with its ornate cornice and window mouldings. The work was done from a scissor lift beside a live bus stop, with cones, bunting and pedestrian signage keeping the footpath open and safe the whole way through. ## Heritage Shopfronts and Council Approval Many Stonnington strips are covered by heritage overlays, and a change of colour on a heritage shopfront can need a planning permit. Repainting the existing scheme is usually straightforward. The City of Stonnington confirms what applies to a building: we are painters, not planners, and we paint to the approved scheme. Period detail is where the hours go on these buildings. Cornices, mouldings and parapets are cleaned back and prepared before any colour goes on, so the detail stays crisp rather than clogged with old paint. ## Commercial Painting in Stonnington FAQs ### Do you paint shopfronts on Chapel Street and High Street? Yes. We paint shopfronts and commercial facades across Stonnington, including High Street Armadale, Chapel Street, Toorak Road and Glenferrie Road. Work is staged around trading, with the footpath managed so customers can still get in. ### Can you paint a two-storey facade on a busy street? Yes. Upper storeys are worked from a scissor lift, with cones, barriers and signage set up so pedestrians and any nearby tram or bus stop stay safe. On High Street Armadale we did exactly this next to a live bus stop. ### Does a heritage shopfront need council approval to repaint? It can. A change of colour on a heritage-listed shopfront in Stonnington may need a planning permit; repainting the existing scheme usually does not. The City of Stonnington confirms what applies, and we paint to the approved scheme. ### Can you work outside trading hours? Yes. Shopfront work can be done early in the morning, after close or on weekends so the business keeps trading. The timing is agreed in the written quote. ### How do I get a commercial painting quote in Stonnington? Call or text Jimmy on 0432 077 782, or use the form on this page. We visit the building, look at access and the footpath, and send an itemised written quote, usually within 24 to 48 hours. ## Suburbs we service We provide this service across Melbourne, including these areas. -
